Scarabs 'n' sarcoughoguses

Allot of the time egytians would paint scarab beetles on their sarcougoguses. They probibly did this because the scarab is a symbol of imortallity, and would help them in the after life.

What they looked like!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Beetle

A small 6-legged beetle, brown body, around 1-2 inches long.

Amulet

A necklace in the shape of a scarab beetle. Comes in many colors, usually in scripted with part of the book of the dead!

Egyptian veiw pionts on scarabs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In most cases the scarab beetle was a symbol of power. It's symbol was used to identify apris the bull dude god thing. Se there would be a scarab shaped mark on the bottum of the bulls tung.

The importance of scarabs to egyptians!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well the Egypt dudes thought they were a symbol of immortality and what not. They were also used for models for amulets. Also a painting of a scarab at the foot of the sarcophagus. I don't know why but I'm thinkin' that since it was a symbol or imortality it probibly was beleved to help them in the after life.

The scarab's life cycle!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

All right, in a scarab's life it goes through
5 stages includin' being an adult. First an adult gets a huge ball of crap, then lays an egg in it. Then the jurney in the crap begins. Then the egg haches and and a little larva thing is born. Then 1-4 weeks
later it pupates or somthing like that. then an adult beetle emerges from the ball of crap. Then its off to lay more eggs and the cycle cotinues, and goes on and on and on and on.....
